Persistent Pain Management Service and Pain Medicine Clinic
What is persistent pain?
Pain is said to be persistent if it lasts longer than expected. Persistent pain is common. In fact, one in five Australians live with persistent pain, so you’re not alone. It can be related to an injury, health condition, or may have started for no apparent reason. When pain persists, it can be associated with or increased by changes in the central nervous system i.e. brain and spinal cord.
The good news is that there are many things that you can do to calm down the central nervous system, and manage your persistent pain so you can get on with the things that are important to you.
