Peninsula Health’s oncology outpatients services works with patients to plan, monitor and review high quality care, treatment and support.
Oncology clinics are held in Outpatient Area 3 in the Integrated Health Building at Frankston Hospital. There are four tumour-streamed outpatient clinics per week. The main tumour streams managed at Peninsula Health are:
- Breast
- Colorectal
- Genitourinary: Prostate, Bladder, Renal
- Gastric and oesophageal, pancreas and hepatobiliary
- Lung
- Skin
- Gynae-Onc
- Other: Brain and other rare tumours are managed with the other tertiary centres
Patients will be followed up by the same oncology consultant to ensure continuity of care. They may also be reviewed by the advanced physician trainee or nurse practitioner. In addition, patients can access a monthly Familial Cancer Service at Frankston Hospital as an outreach clinic from Monash Health.
