Nephrology and Haemodialysis

The Department of Nephrology provides inpatient care, acute dialysis and consultation for all patients admitted to Frankston and Rosebud Hospital with kidney problems. In addition, the department provides a range of outpatient clinics for chronic kidney disease, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplant patients.

Nephrology (Renal Medicine) at Frankston Hospital

The Satellite Haemodialysis Unit at Frankston is located in the Integrated Health Centre building at Frankston Hospital. The unit operates Monday – Saturday, from 7am – 8.30pm and Monday, Wednesday and Friday until 3 am.

The unit is a satellite unit of the Alfred Hospital and provides nine Fresenius dialysis chairs.

Both morning, afternoon and “twilight” sessions are offered for patients:

  • Morning sessions: 7am – 3.30pm.
  • Afternoon sessions: 12 noon – 8.30pm.
  • Twilight sessions: 7pm – 3pm.

Nephrology (Renal Medicine) at Rosebud Hospital

The Satellite Haemodialysis Unit at Rosebud Hospital operates Monday – Saturday, from 7am – 8pm.

The unit provides nine Fresenius dialysis chairs and offers both morning and afternoon sessions for patients:

  • Morning sessions: 7am – 3.30pm.
  • Afternoon sessions: 12 noon – 8.00pm.

Rosebud Satellite Dialysis Unit is a satellite unit directly managed by the Department of Nephrology at Peninsula Health, in collaboration with the Alfred Hospital. The unit provide quality Renal Services closer to home for the resident at Southern end of Mornington Peninsula.
