How to Access the Service

Patients can either:

If you have already seen a healthcare provider and completed investigations, we encourage them to include any relevant pathology or imaging results with the referral.

All referrals are reviewed through the same triage process and a GP referral will not delay access to care.

Following referral, patients will be contacted and booked for a telephone assessment with a Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse before a procedure appointment is arranged.

IUD Services

Patients interested in an IUD will generally be offered an assessment with a Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse before a procedure appointment is arranged.

During this assessment we may discuss:

  • Your medical and contraceptive history
  • Available IUD options
  • Any required investigations
  • Preparation for the procedure
  • Pain relief and comfort options available during insertion

Following assessment, an IUD insertion appointment may be arranged if appropriate.
