Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers

Connecting you and your family to culturally appropriate community services.

The Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer (AHLO) provides supportive contact to Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander patients, and their families across Peninsula Health.

The AHLO provides face to face, on-site assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their
families attending all treatment services at Peninsula Health. The AHLO is also able to be contacted by telephone for those clients that have presented to health service out of hours.

  • Local community knowledge
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients understand their diagnosis and have a say in their care with respect to culture
