The Health Promotion team can support your early childhood service in developing a whole-service approach to areas such as:
- Nourishing food and drink
- Food and body talk
- Mental wellbeing
- Tobacco and vaping prevention
- Physical activity and movement
We can also help you embed wellbeing into your policies, connect you with high quality resources and signage, and assist in menu assessments to align with the Victorian Government’s Menu planning guidelines for long day care.
We can support you to embed the work you do with us, within your service Quality Improvement Plans and link back to the National Quality Standards.
The Food and Bodies Project
Early Childhood Services want to create nurturing and safe learning environments where food can be explored and every body feels welcome and included. The Food and Bodies project connects early childhood educators with trusted, easy to use resources and tailored support to reframe food and body talk with children, families, and early learning communities.

Early Learning Food Network
The Early Learning Food Network provides a supportive and safe environment for early childhood staff to share knowledge and experiences, increase capacity to effectively plan menus and food education activities and explore opportunities to problem solve and learn from others with similar challenges.
The network meets each quarter, is free to attend. Upcoming events are promoted through our Early Childhood Services newsletter. Email us at healthpromotion@phcn.vic.gov.au to be added to our mailing list.
