Clinic 185 provides confidential, non-judgemental pregnancy options counselling and abortion care.
Our team can provide information, support and assessment regarding:
- Pregnancy options counselling
- Early medical abortion (MS-2 Step)
- Referral for surgical abortion where required
- Post-abortion contraception
- Follow-up care
How to Access the Service
You do not need a referral to access Clinic 185.
Patients can:
- Contact ACCESS directly and self-refer
- Ask their GP or healthcare provider to submit a referral
If you have already seen your GP and completed any investigations (such as blood tests or ultrasound), we encourage your GP to include these with the referral. This may reduce duplication and assist with timely assessment.
A GP and self-referrals are reviewed and triaged through the same service pathway.

Following referral, a member of our team will contact you to arrange an assessment.
During this appointment we may discuss:
- Pregnancy options
- Medical and surgical abortion pathways
- Relevant medical history
- Required investigations
- Follow-up care
- Future contraception options

Please note that Bayside Health Peninsula is unable to provide appointments to everyone referred to the service.
Priority may be given to:
- People living within the Bayside Health- Peninsula catchment area
- Health Care Card holders
- People experiencing financial hardship or barriers to accessing care
If we are unable to offer an appointment, alternative services may be available.
