Stroke Detours Program

For those who have experienced a stroke, our Stroke Detours Program (SDP) provides easier access to allied health services.

Services Provided

People who have had a stroke may benefit from leaving hospital sooner and receiving rehabilitation at home. The stroke detours team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers and allied health assistants.

Location

Our team provides rehabilitation in your own home. You will also have access to a doctor and nurse at our clinic.

How do I access this service?

If you have a stroke and are a patient at a Peninsula Health hospital, your medical team will determine whether you are suitable for the Stroke Detours Program. Consumers are referred to our program by Peninsula Health medical staff only.
