The Neurology service at PH provides inpatient and outpatient care for patients in Frankston and on the Mornington Peninsula.
Inpatient care
Inpatient care includes care for acute stroke and TIAs, and for neurology conditions such as epilepsy, MS, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barre condition, myasthenia, etc.
Outpatient care
Outpatient clinics provide services for pts with Stroke, TIA, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s, epilepsy, MS, neuropathy, etc. We also provide inpatient and outpatient neurophysiology services including EMG/NCS and EEG.
How do I access this service?
Anyone can access the inpatient service if needed, usually via the Frankston or Rosebud hospital emergency departments, or via an elective admission. A GP or ED referral is needed to for an outpatient clinic appointment or a neurophysiology test. All appointments are triaged according to clinical need.
