Mental Health Services

There are four teams covering specific regions within the Peninsula Health catchment area. Each Multidisciplinary Team integrates the various service functions that were previously provided by separate teams. The team members, including the team Consultant Psychiatrists, aim to become well known to GPs within their areas.

The aim is for the GP to be able to contact a team with concerns about a patient with one phonecall. The team will then organise appropriate services for the patient whether they be inpatient or outpatient and will keep GPs informed about patient management.

How do we access our local team?

The mechanism for contacting the service has not changed – you still need to contact the Triage Service on 1300 792 977 All hours.
