The Movement Disorders Program provides people with a diagnosis and ways to manage the conditions listed below. The overarching aim of MDP is to provide medical and/or allied health input so that clients’ can self manage their condition as it progresses.

The MDP is made up of:
- Neurologists
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Speech Pathologists
- Dietitians
- Social Workers
- Nurses
- Allied Health Assistants
We commonly treat:
- Parkinson’s Disease (PD)
- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP)
- Cortico-Basal Degeneration (CBD)
- Multi-Systems Atrophy (MSA)
- Huntington’s Disease
MDP has two streams; a neurology clinic which offers diagnosis and/or management of their condition and a multidisciplinary allied health stream which provides education and specialist strategy training to maximise independence. The allied health stream only accepts clients who have a diagnosis of PD, Atypical PD or Huntington’s and only offers short term, goal based interventions. For ongoing therapy please refer to other services. Referrals to our program MUST HAVE clear documentation of which stream the client is being referred to (neurology/ allied health), reason for referral and SMART treatment goals.
