This week we celebrate Speech Pathology Week (24 – 30 August), with the theme “Impact through communication”. It’s a time to recognise the vital role speech pathologists play in helping people connect, participate and thrive.
At Peninsula Health, our 50 dedicated speech pathologists provide services across the lifespan, supporting people of all ages in a variety of settings.
Among our team are Jess, who specialises in working with adults, and Nicole, who supports children and young people aged 0 to 17 years. Their work highlights the diverse expertise within our speech pathology teams and the many ways we help our community communicate and engage every day.
See how their roles differ below:
Our speech pathologists also work across a wide range of areas at Peninsula Health, including:
- Special Care Nursery
- Community Health
- NDIS
- Feeding Clinic
- Adult Acute Inpatients
- Subacute Inpatient Rehabilitation
- Rehabilitation in the Home
- Transition to Care Program
- School Readiness Program
- Palliative Care Unit
- Pathways to Good Health Program
Through these services, our teams make a meaningful difference by strengthening communication, building independence and improving quality of life for people of all ages.
