The Friendship Factory is open for business at Overport Primary

At Overport Primary School, the Student Health Ambassadors are leading the way in promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and safe social spaces through an inspiring new initiative called The Friendship Factory. This student-led project offers a welcoming space filled with fun activities and opportunities to build friendships.

Thanks to the generous support of the Parents and Friends Club, a variety of games and play equipment is available every Wednesday and Friday. From board games to sports gear, these resources help to create a more inclusive and connected school yard.

“We want to give students a safe place to play, build relationships and feel supported” says the Student Health Ambassadors.

“We are proud to support initiatives like this through the Student Health Ambassador Project. Empowering young people to take the lead in promoting mental wellbeing and social inclusion” says Kristen – Peninsula Health Health Promotion Practitioner. The Friendship Factory shows how student voice, community support, and a shared commitment to health can come together to make a real difference.
