Peninsula University Hospital Opening 20 January 2026

We’re moving into the new hospital tower on Tuesday 20 January.

Throughout the day, patients and consumers (except those in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Westernport and our PAPU unit) will be transferred from our current building into the new inpatient wards.

During the move, visits are limited to essential support people only. Once patients and consumers are settled, families and contact people will be called to advise when visiting can resume.

There is a new main entrance from Yuille St, Gate 2.

ED will operate as usual and is not moving. If your condition isn’t life-threatening, please consider your local Urgent Care Clinic or visit your doctor.

If you are pregnant and go into labour on 20 January, please contact the Pregnancy Assessment Unit first on 9784 7959. They will provide instructions on how to reach the new Maternity Unit on Level 5 of the tower.

Thank you for your patience as we transition into the new Peninsula University Hospital. If you have any questions, please speak with a member of your healthcare team or contact us.

New interactive map

You can plan your journey before you arrive using the digital wayfinding map. Wayfinding kiosks are also located at the Main Entrance and East Entrance. The interactive map allows you to enter your starting location and destination to find your way around the Peninsula University Hospital campus.
