The Lung Mass Clinic is for the URGENT evaluation of patients suspected of having a new lung cancer and requiring further investigation. It provides multidisciplinary assessment and streamlined access to diagnostics and treatment planning.
This clinic accepts referrals for patients with positive screening results from National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) low-dose CT (LDCT) scans.

Referrals
The GP Referral Template located within the Mastercare Referral net system is the preferred referral tool.

Eligibility Criteria
All patients must have had a Chest CT scan prior to referral.
Exclusion Criteria
Referrals for patients who have not had a chest CT scan will be declined.
Make a referral
All referrals to this clinic must contain the following information.
Referral: Date of referral, Speciality, Referring practitioner, Provider Number, Referrer’s signature.
Patient Demographic: Full name, Date of birth, Postal address, Contact numbers, Medicare Number, Interpreter required.
Clinical: Reason for referral, Duration of symptoms, Management to date, Past medical history, Current medications, Allergies, Diagnostics as per referral guidelines X-ray results/reports must be within the last 6 months.

Peninsula Health employs a Lung Cancer Care Nursing Coordinator. The Coordinator is a resource for patients, families, carers and clinicians.
