The Women’s Health, and Children’s and Adolescent Health incorporates Peninsula Health Maternity Services, Special Care Nursery, and the Children’s and Adolescent Unit at Frankston Hospital.
A Women’s Health Clinic, staffed by a female general practitioner, is also available.
Peninsula Health is required to report the following information under the terms of the Safe Patient Care (Nurse to Patient and Midwife to Patient Ratios) Act 2015
- Peninsula Health Maternity Service has nine birth suites and five assessment rooms available to be occupied.
- During the period of 1st September 2019-29 February 2020 – we had 1509 birth rooms occupied which equates to approximately nine per day and 1835 presentations to our assessment rooms.
- During the period of 1st March 2020-31st August 2020 – we had 1464 birth rooms occupied which equates to approximately eight per day and 1688 presentations to our assessment rooms.
- During the period of 1st September 2020 – 28th February 2021 we had 1490 birth rooms occupied which equates to approximately eight to nine per day and 1897 presentations to our assessment rooms.
