Sandringham Hospital Maternity, Newborn and Gynaecology Services

From 1 July 2026, these services will transition from Monash Health to Bayside Health.

This is a change in management only. Women and families will continue to receive the same high quality, expert maternity and newborn care at Sandringham Hospital.

What does this mean for referrals?

  • Pregnancy and gynaecology patients living in the Sandringham Hospital, Bayside Health catchment can be referred to Sandringham Hospital via the new process below from 1 July.
  • Referral pathways to Monash Health Women’s and Newborn Program will remain unchanged.
  • Whilst Monash Health welcomes gynaecology referrals from an open catchment, please be advised that current service demand is great. Referrers are encouraged to utilise the local Sandringham Gynaecology Service (now provided through Bayside Health) to facilitate timely patient access.
