About the Counselling Service
Our team of counsellors will assist you to make positive changes in your life. We work with you to identify goals and find ways to tackle problems using the skills and resources you already have.
The counsellor does not judge, give advice nor direct you to take a certain course of action, but will help you to find a better way to deal with your situation and to make your own decisions.
Counsellors can help with:
- Personal relationships
- Family issues such as family violence
- Sadness and depression
- Grief and loss
- Stress and anxiety
- Dealing with trauma
- Managing chronic illness
- Parenting and child behaviour issues
- Separation issues
- Referral to other services
Group programs can vary but regularly include:
- Anxiety Management Program
- ‘Moving On’ a program to help you deal with changes in your life such as the loss of a loved one, children leaving home, changing jobs, recent retirement, separation or divorce
- ‘Out of Bounds’ for parents dealing with adolescent violence in the home
- Pain Management groups.
Who can use the service?
Community Health Counselling is open to residents of Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula area who might not access private counselling services.

How to access this service
All enquiries should be made through the Access Worker at your nearest site. Clients can phone themselves or be referred by a doctor, health worker or community worker.
