Vale Peta Murphy

On behalf of the Board, Executive team, staff and volunteers at Peninsula Health, it is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of the Federal Member for Dunkley, Peta Murphy MP.

Peta was an extraordinary advocate for the region which encompasses Frankston, and was unwavering in her support for better health outcomes for the local people in her electorate. Her support for many parts of our health service was hugely valued by everyone at Peninsula Health. Peta was also a strong advocate for improved research facilities at Frankston, and was one of the founding voices of support for the National Centre for Healthy Ageing, now operating and based at Frankston Hospital. Despite her deteriorating health over recent months, Peta continued to lobby tirelessly for anything that would improve the lives of local people in the Dunkley region and beyond.

As well as her time in Federal Parliament, Peta also served on the Board of Directors at Peninsula Health between 2016 and 2018.

Peta will be missed enormously by everyone who knew her, and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
