Congratulations to Peninsula Health Dietitian Gemma Bourke and Health Promotion Practitioner Anneliese Twigg, who have both received Inspiring Educator Awards from Monash University. Nominated by Monash University students, Gemma and Anneliese were recognised for their outstanding contributions to education and student mentorship.
Gemma received the University Educator Award for her exceptional supervision of Dietetics students, dedication to professional development, and compassionate leadership. Anneliese was honoured with the Student Inspiring Educator Award for her empathetic and approachable mentoring, as well as her ability to effectively translate extensive knowledge into real-world applications.
“It was a wonderful surprise to be recognised by Monash University students. I genuinely enjoy connecting with students and encouraging them to explore new and sometimes very different perspectives,” said Anneliese.
“Supervising and mentoring students has always been a passion of mine. I am grateful to Peninsula Health and Monash University for the opportunities to be involved in student supervision. Watching students grow and develop throughout their placements is deeply rewarding, both personally and professionally,” Gemma shared.
