Retired Peninsula Health nurse, Judi McKee, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2025 Australia Day Honours, in recognition of her exceptional service to the community.
With a career spanning over three decades, Judi’s commitment to healthcare has left a lasting impact on Peninsula Health. As a registered division one nurse, she played a pivotal role in establishing crucial services, including the Aged Care Assessment Services and the Cognitive Dementia and Memory Service at the Mt Eliza Geriatric Centre. Additionally, she was instrumental in the creation of the Access and Referral Unit for Peninsula Health.
Beyond her nursing career, Judi continues to make a difference as the Youth Services Director for the Frankston North Rotary, where she made history 19 years ago as the first woman to join the group. Under her leadership, the Rotary has contributed significantly to Peninsula Health, donating over $24,000 since 2005.
Judi’s work, both in healthcare and community service, has been nothing short of remarkable, and this recognition is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the people of Frankston North and beyond. Congratulations, Judi, on your well-deserved honour.
