Helen Cooper appointed Chief Executive for Peninsula Health

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Adj. Associate Professor Helen Cooper as the next Chief Executive for Peninsula Health. Helen assumes this role at a pivotal time, as we prepare for the move into our new Hospital building in 2025/26.

Helen has served with distinction as Executive Director Operations and Deputy Chief Executive at Peninsula Health since November 2019. Holding a Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Business Administration, Helen has over 27 years’ experience in health leadership and management roles with previous senior positions at Murrumbidgee Local Health District NSW and Gold Coast Hospital & Health Service.

A proven leader in delivering innovative and sustainable service improvements, ability to lead and implement change, and with her analytical approach to problem solving, Helen has all the credentials to be an outstanding leader for our organisation. Helen was pivotal in our response to COVID, oversaw the development of the Frankston Public Surgical Centre, put in place a modern structure for the Operations Directorate and with the Executive team, is currently ensuring our operational readiness for the move into the new building.

The Board looks forward to working with Helen and her Executive team over the coming years as the health service enters into a new and exciting phase in serving our community.
