IMPORTANT CAR PARKING CHANGES AT FRANKSTON HOSPITAL (Emergency Department & Surgery side)
From 7am Thursday 29 September, the location of the public car park and drop-off area (on the Emergency Department side) will change to allow for the next phase of Frankston Hospital’s redevelopment.
While a new permanent car park is constructed, visitors and patients/carers can use the temporary car park located on the corner of Hastings Road and Yuille Street (near the Emergency Department, see map below).
A mixture of short-term free parking and long-term paid parking is available. Traffic controllers will be at the car park entrance to direct you. Please see the map and further information below, for details on how to access the Emergency Department, A-Block wards, Surgical Services and Mental Health from the new car park.
Emergency Department, A-Block wards* and Surgical Services
Parking access is unchanged through Gate 2, Hastings Road. Please use the short-term parking available for picking up or dropping off a loved one, or follow the signage to access the long-term parking (see map below).
Mental Health Services
A small number of short-term car parks are available at the front of Mental Health services, accessible through Gate 3, Yuille Street. If there is no available parking here, please continue to the multi-deck car park located next to Frankston Hospital’s Main Entrance. This can be accessed via Gate 3, Yuille Street or Gate 1, Hastings Road.
For all other services located at Frankston Hospital, please use the multi-deck car park next to Frankston Hospital’s Main Entrance, which can be accessed via Gate 1, Hastings Road.

About Rosebud Hospital
The Rosebud Hospital is at the heart of the Rosebud Health Hub – a new health initiative for the people on the Southern end of the Mornington Peninsula.
The Rosebud Health Hub provides a comprehensive range of Healthcare services from the Rosebud Hospital site, including Community Health, Mental Health, Allied Health and Dental Health services.
Rosebud Hospital has 30 acute and 30 subacute beds, four surgical beds serving one operating theatre, nine Renal Dialysis chairs, three Cardiac Monitored beds, four Chemotherapy chairs and an Emergency Department with nine cubicles and a fast track area.
Situated 80kms from Melbourne’s CBD, the hospital provides care and treatment for both admitted and out patients.
Rosebud Hospital provides services for more than 130,000 residents on the Southern Peninsula. The population swells dramatically during the holiday periods, with the peak summer period attracting in excess of 100,000 people to the Peninsula.
Visiting Hours
Rosebud Hospital offers patient-centred care and family members are welcome to visit at any time that is suitable for the patient.
Patients may have appointments during the day (8:30am-4:00pm) for diagnostic tests or therapy assessments. Family members are encouraged to discuss with the team their participation in these procedures. It is advisable that all visitors enquire at the Nurses’ Desk upon arrival as patients may be away from their bed for tests or may have had a bed move.
Note that Hillview Rehabilitation Ward has ‘protected meal times’, and visitors are not generally allowed in the dining room.

About The Mornington Centre
The Mornington Centre is a purpose built 90 bed Geriatric Evaluation and Management facility.
The Mornington Centre provides a full range of specialist medical, nursing and allied health services. On admission patients are assessed by our clinical team and undertake an individualised therapy program. Patients are mostly older people with complex or multiple health care conditions associated with ageing, memory and thinking problems, chronic illness or disability. The average length of stay for patients is 3-4 weeks.
As a facility for Promoting Health Independence, the focus of the Mornington Centre is to assist patients to maximise their abilities and plan for the future.

The Mornington Centre offers patient-centred care and family members are welcome to visit at any time that is suitable for the patient. About the Golf Links Road Rehabilitation Centre
The Golf Links Road site houses a number of Peninsula Health’s Community and Continuing Care Services.

About the Frankston Community Rehabilitation Centre
The Frankston Community Rehabilitation Centre provides a multidisciplinary service to enable clients who are disabled, frail, chronically ill or recovering from traumatic injury to retain optimal functional independence.
A qualified team of medical, nursing, allied health and social work staff will assess clients and then provide individual treatment plans aimed at assisting clients to achieve maximum mobility and functional independence.
After discharge, consultation is still available for up to six weeks before requiring a new referral.
Costs
Fees are very affordable and range from $10 to $15 a week depending on services required.

About Golf Links Road Rehabilitation Units 1 & 2
Two purpose built 30 bed rehabilitation units are located on the Golf Links Road site in Frankston.
Golf Links Road Rehabilitation Unit 1
Provides a range of rehabilitation services for patients with amputations, spinal injuries, strokes and other medical conditions
Golf Links Road Rehabilitation Unit 2
Provides a range of therapies for patients following joint replacements, cardiac and pulmonary problems, abdominal operations and other problems.
A medical assessment will be conducted prior to admission into both rehabilitation units and the most appropriate unit will be selected. On admission, a personally tailored rehabilitation program will be arranged for each client, in consultation with the client and their family.
Client progress is closely monitored by the rehabilitation team and on discharge, ongoing therapy programs provided by Community Rehabilitation Centres and other Peninsula Health Services can be organised.

About Carinya Residential Aged Care Unit
Carinya is a 30-bed purpose built Aged Persons Mental Health Residential Care Facility designed to provide high level specialist nursing care to residents with complex mental health diagnoses who are unable to be managed effectively in a generic aged care facility. It is an interim care facility which provides specialist care until a resident no longer requires this level of care and is able to move to alternative accommodation that meets the resident’s need at that time.
Carinya being a Public Sector Residential Aged Care Facility, managed by Peninsula Health, has easy access to a range of other services provided by a large health organisation such as The emergency department at Frankston hospital, medical surgical units, rehabilitation services, palliative care.
Carinya is fully accredited with the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency. Accreditation reports are available on the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency website.

About the Tattersalls Palliative Care Unit
The Tattersall’s Palliative Care Unit is a modern, purpose-built 15 bed facility that provides comprehensive care and support to patients in the advanced stages of progressive life-threatening illness where care in the community is no longer appropriate.
The facility accommodates both the inpatient Palliative Care Unit and the Peninsula Hospice Service which provides community based palliative care services.
Facilities for patients and families include a lounge room, overnight room, patient’s dining area and the sanctuary, a room for quiet reflection. Support and counselling services and accommodation are available for patients’ families.
