Intensive Community Treatment Team (ICT Team)

The Intensive Community Treatment Team is a clinical sub team of the Aged Persons Mental Health Team and is collocated with the APMHT.

The multidisciplinary team aims to provide an alternative treatment to hospitalisation during the acute phase of a person’s mental illness. ICT functions on an outreach basis delivering recovery focused, acute mental health treatment in the person’s place of residence. The team facilitates, where appropriate, early discharge from the Acute Aged Inpatient Unit for patients able to be managed in their place of residence with increased support, person centred care and treatment.

The team operates seven days per week during the hours of 8:30am to 5pm. The team does not provide a crisis response; this function is provided by the APMHT during business hours and by the acute component of Adult Community Mental Health Services after hours.
