Dr. Zee Wan Wong commenced her role as the Head of Oncology at Peninsula Health in August 2017 and has been appointed as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor with Monash University. She took on the role of Joint Clinical Director of Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service from June 2018. Zee Wan obtained her postgraduate medical qualifications at the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom before completing her Medical Oncology fellowship in the United States. She was a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre, in Singapore prior to coming to Australia. She obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Medical Oncology in 2013. Zee Wan was previously the founding Clinical Director of Oncology Unit at Goulburn Valley Health in 2012 and also the Clinical Director of West Hume Regional Integrated Cancer Services.
Her clinical focus is breast, gastrointestinal and lung cancers as well as immunotherapy and is very active in clinical research and teaching. Zee Wan was the principal investigator for various oncology clinical trials including prostate, breast and gastrointestinal cancers in collaboration with ANZUP, BCT and AGITG amongst others. She is a board member of Cancer Trials Australia and also a member of the Scientific and Medical Committee of Cancer Council Victoria. She has been actively involved in state-wide cancer service improvement initiatives including the Victorian Tumour Summits Steering Committee and various working parties of the tumour streams implemented in Optimal Care Pathways. She has held grants through the Victorian Lung Cancer Redesign and the Victorian Cancer Survivorship Programmes. She is currently a Clinical Advisor for Cancer Council Victoria Clinical Network and also a senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at national as well as international oncology conferences.
Dr. Jacqui Thomson MBBS, FRACP is a graduate of the University of Western Australia. She trained in Medical Oncology in Melbourne, including clinical research felllowships at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Jacqui’s main professional interests are in the management of early and advanced breast cancer as well as the application of best supportive care practice throughout all stages of a cancer diagnosis, in particular, minimising the side-effects of systemic therapy.
Jacqui has been the local principal investigator in a number of international, multicentre clinical trials as well as conducting many investigator-led studies at Peninsula Health. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Multinational Society of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) and Breast Cancer Trials group.
Dr Oliver Klein is a medical oncologist who has undertaken training in Medical Oncology and Clinical Haematology in Germany before coming to Australia to join the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the Austin Hospital. He has worked for several years as a postdoctoral and clinical research fellow being actively involved in melanoma and cancer immunotherapy research.
Dr Klein has a particular interest in the treatment of patients with melanoma and skin malignancies as well as in immunotherapy. Next to being a staff specialist with Peninsula Health he is also holding an appointment at the Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre at the Austin Hospital where he is heading the immuno-oncology clinic. He is a Senior Research Fellow of the Olivia Newton John Cancer Research institute.
Dr Sanjeev Sewak combines extensive experience with a genuine commitment to patient welfare. He joined Peninsula Health in 2009 as a consultant Medical Oncologist, and he also consults at Noble Park and at PASO (Peninsula and Southeast Oncology) at Frankston Private Hospital.
He has a broad range of experience in all tumour types and his research interests include genitourinary malignancy and lung cancers. Dr Sewak has also been a Lead Investigator in a number of trials involving prostate, renal, and bladder cancers at both PASO and Peninsula Health.
Sanjeev Sewak is an active member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia, Victorian Clinical Oncology Group, Australian and New Zealand Urological Prostate Group, Australian and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
After graduating from Melbourne University in 1989 with an MBBS and training in Internal Medicine and later Medical Oncology, he received his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
He spent two years in New York, USA dedicating his time to post-graduate research and training in oncology at New York University Medical Centre in Manhattan.
Dr Nicole Potasz is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She was appointed as a consultant medical oncologist at Frankston Hospital in 2003. Nicole attends outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary team meetings and participates in the ward service roster. She has a particular interest in breast, lung cancer and colorectal cancer and is an investigator in local and international clinical trials.
Dr Babak Tamjid MD, FRACP is a Medical Oncologist with special interests in Colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, Breast, melanoma, and genitourinary cancers. He follows new advances in Oncology very closely and he has great experience and an interest in use of immunotherapy for treating various cancers.
Dr Tamjid currently holds Medical Oncology consultant position at Peninsula Health and he is the Clinical Director of Oncology at Goulburn Valley Health and works as a Medical Oncologist in a number of private hospitals. He is also a Lecturer at the Department of Rural Health, University of Melbourne.
He graduated from medical school with an M.D. degree in 2006. He completed his basic physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2011 and completed his advanced training in General Medicine and Medical Oncology at three major hospitals including the Alfred Hospital, the Austin Hospital and Box Hill Hospital. He worked as a Clinical Research Fellow in medical oncology at the Austin hospital where he was involved in a large number of phase 1, 2, and 3 clinical trials. He received a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015.
Dr Tamjid has a keen interest in research and has published in a number of peer review journal. He continues to actively participate in clinical trials and present at national and international conferences.
Dr Yoland Antill BMed FRCAP MD is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She trained at Royal North Shore Hospital, in Sydney before completing a fellowship and doctoral studies at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and now works full time across both public and private appointments at Frankston Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Cabrini Health as a Medical Oncologist and Cancer Genetics specialist. Her working and research interests are in the management of Breast and Gynaecological cancers. Yoland is the lead investigator for a number of local and international research studies and is involved in the development and conduct of clinical trials. This includes the Study Chair for a first in its kind Phase 2 study in the treatment of advanced endometrial cancer, the site PI for a number of clinical trials in the management of breast cancer, site PI for several research projects investigating the genetic cause of cancer together with supportive care studies.
Dr Antill is a member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia, the Australian Gynaecological Oncology Group, the Australian and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group, the Private Cancer Physicians of Australia and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is a current invited member of the ANZBCTG Supportive Care Subcommittee and the ANZGOG’s Endometrial Cancer working party. Dr Antill is also the Chair of the Uterine Tumour Group for ANZGOG, and an active lead investigator and member of Breast Cancer Trials (formerly known as ANZBCTG).
She has more than 15 years’ experience in both medical oncology and in the diagnosis and management of hereditary cancer syndromes.
