Rainbow recognition: Peninsula Health flies rainbow flag on IDAHOBIT 2024

On Friday 17 May, we recognised International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), with a flag raising ceremony at Frankston Hospital.

Recognised every year since 2004, the day aims to raise awareness of the violence and discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer + (LGBTIQ+) communities worldwide.

IDAHOBIT was started on 17 May 1990 when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems.

Peninsula Health is proud to be a diverse and inclusive health service.

Our Rainbow Community Advisory Group (CAG) provides an avenue for consumer and community perspectives, experiences and concerns. It is a space to share information, have robust discussions and help implement inclusive practices and protocols here at Peninsula Health.

If you feel strongly about providing a safe and inclusive culture for the LGBTIQA+ community, then our Rainbow Community Advisory Group might be for you. Find out more by speaking to Michelle Daniel, Consumer Engagement Manager on 03 9784 2665 or email consumerengagement@phcn.vic.gov.au
