Tom & Jack make pawfect Community Care Unit residents

Meet two of our lovable Community Care Unit residents, Tom and Jack.

Loved by both staff and residents, this playful duo provide residents with comfort and support as they undergo mental health treatment.

“As a resident of the CCU I find our two cats therapeutic. I often visit them in my quiet time and find their on-going presence to be beneficial to my mental health journey.”

It is well documented that the presence of animals in treatment can cause feelings of calm and optimism in both adults and children.

The Frankston Community Care Unit is part of Peninsula Health’s Mental Health Service, offering a program that emphasises personal recovery and a collaborative approach.
