As you get older, everyday tasks can become more difficult and you may find that you need help completing tasks around the home.
From 1 July2022, Peninsula Health will become the provider of regional assessment services within the Frankston local government area, to be known as the Peninsula Regional Assessment Service (RAS).
Peninsula RAS aims to ensure that the services you receive respond to your needs and support you living independently at home.
To receive a RAS assessment, you must be aged 65 years and older, or aged 50 years and older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Peninsula RAS will not be replacing MEACAS.
Regional Assessment Services (RAS) conduct Home Support Assessments to assess people for eligibility for entry level home help services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).
Aged Care Assessment Services (ACAS) conduct comprehensive assessments to assess people for eligibility to access higher level services, including Commonwealth-funded residential aged care, residential respite care, Transition Care Programme (TCP), Short Term Restorative Care Program, Home Care Packages, as well as the CHSP.
