Peninsula Health 2022 Research Report

Officially launched by Peninsula Health Chief Executive Felicity Topp during our annual Celebrating Research Week, our 2022 Research Report highlights the transformative research currently being conducted at Peninsula Health.

Peninsula Health Director of Research Professor Velandai Srikanth said “I’m delighted to once again present a report that provides our community with a sense of the vibrant research that is now occurring at Peninsula Health. Our research continues to significantly progress due to the hard work and collaborative efforts of many of our researchers and clinicians. The combining of clinical service provision with high-quality academic research is essential for health services to flourish and provide our community with the best options in healthcare”.

“In spite of the vagaries of the COVID environment, you will see some remarkable examples of work driven by our clinicians and researchers that are truly translational. These range from work in ageing, to public health initiatives in surgical populations, enhanced access to cutting-edge clinical trials in cancer care for our regional communities, and participation in one of the largest cohort studies of newborns and their families.”

Professor Srikanth, who is also the Director of the National Centre for Healthy Ageing (NCHA), said the report highlights the significant progress being made within the NCHA a major partnership between Peninsula Health and Monash University.
