Di Amiet arrives on the opening day of the Frankston Community Vaccination Hub for the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Peninsula Health has established a new COVID-19 vaccination centre in the heart of Frankston.
The recently opened hub is operating out of the old Toys’R’Us at Bayside Shopping Centre.
“We are pleased to have opened the Frankston Community Vaccination Hub at Bayside Centre, where we are able to provide this important service in a central, easy to access location for our community,” says Helen Cooper, Executive Director of Operations at Peninsula Health.
“To find out if you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and to make a booking, please go to the Department of Health website.”
Among those to come in for their vaccinations were people in high-risk accommodation settings.
A multi-disciplinary team of more than 100 immunisers, administration staff, pharmacists, doctors, security, cleaners and concierge are delivering up to 1,200 vaccinations a day at the hub, including both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccine.
Bookings can be made through the Department of Health website and hotline. Additionally, there is a small number of walk-in appointments available for people aged 60 and over, for the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Mornington resident Di Amiet was happy to be among the first people vaccinated at the new hub this month.
“It was really easy for me to come up to Bayside and find a car park, receive my second jab and get that protection,” says Di.
“You can see the staff are doing a really good job at making it as pleasant and efficient an experience it can be – it’s just brilliant to know people can get the vaccine locally.”
“I’m so happy to feel safe from COVID and go about life knowing I am not only keeping myself but my family and friends safe.”
