We would like to congratulate our Clinical Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr Nisha Khot, on her appointment to Vice President of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).
Dr Khot is the first woman of colour to be appointed to the position of Vice President for RANZCOG and is a strong advocate for overseas trained doctors.
As Vice President, she looks forward to improving support for International Medical Graduates during her term and ensuring these doctors work to their full scope without unjustified barriers.
“I am passionate about diversity in health leadership,” she says.
“Although the healthcare workforce is predominantly women, often migrant women, representation of women, especially women of colour, is uncommon in leadership.”
She will officially commence her term at RANZCOG in November 2023.
