The Victorian Government’s redevelopment of Frankston hospital is one step closer, with the contract for the project signed today – paving the way for the transformational upgrade.
Minister for Health Martin Foley today confirmed the appointment of Exemplar Health to deliver the massive redevelopment, which will support up to 1,700 jobs from construction and new opportunities for healthcare workers.
The consortium includes Capella Capital as sponsor and investor, Aware Super as investor, Lendlease as builder and Honeywell and Compass Group as facilities and maintenance managers.
The redevelopment will transform services at the hospital, delivering a new 12-storey clinical services tower, 130 more beds and capacity to treat 35,000 more patients each year. A new and expanded operating theatre suite with 15 new theatres will mean more surgeries and shorter wait times for the local community.
In addition to delivering new mental health and oncology services, new inpatient units, expanded women’s and children’s services and a new medical imaging department, the redevelopment will include space for future expansion as demand in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula continues to increase.
