In August, Peninsula Health hosted a group of international nursing students in collaboration with Monash University, all the way from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
Joined by The Deputy Head of Monash University’s Nursing and Midwifery School, Dr Helen Rawson, the students were invited on a tour of Frankston Hospital.
The experience presented the students with an opportunity to immerse and familiarise themselves with the operations of an Australian public hospital, interacting with staff and visiting different clinical areas around the organisation.
“It was a pleasure to welcome a delegation of international students and educators from Monash University to our health service,” says Peninsula Health Director of Nursing, Tresna Cuttriss.
“The group visited several areas, including Frankston’s Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Mental Health, and inpatient wards.”
All students and delegates were received incredibly well by our staff, who were generous with their time and especially eager to showcase their areas of expertise.
