Nursing and Midwifery Students

Peninsula Health provides clinical placements in Nursing, Midwifery and Mental Health.

We partner with Monash University, Chisholm Institute of TAFE and other education providers to support pre-registration clinical placements for all year levels in both the Bachelor and Diploma programs.

Our student placements are arranged through your education provider placement offices, not with individual students.

All Peninsula Health sites provide clinical placements and across the organisation we provide opportunities in acute medical/surgical, critical care, sub-acute/rehab, community, mental health.

Midwifery placements can be facilitated in antenatal, maternity inpatients, pregnancy assessment, birth suite, postnatal home care and Special Care Nursery.

Our Clinical Support Nurse team provides students with support, education and debrief sessions to enable students to achieve their clinical learning objectives during the placement.

We have an online mandatory orientation program that all students are asked to complete prior to placement and this is valid for a 12 month period.

We also encourage our students to provide confidential feedback at the completion of placement that helps us review and improve the clinical experiences for future learners.
