Designed to enable students to develop an understanding of disease processes, assessment, and management, our Emergency Nursing Postgraduate Program provides the skills that underpin the nursing care of a broad range of emergency presentations, from birth to end-of-life care and across all socio-cultural and economic groups.

General Information
The program includes:
- Comprehensive orientation program
- Supernumerary time for staff new to Peninsula Health (PH) Emergency Departments (ED)
- Minimum 0.8 EFT
- Two (2), twelve (12) credit point units at Monash University
- Annual leave, study leave, exam leave, professional development (PD) leave
- Program delivered via online self-directed learning modules, face to face workshops and PD days, skills stations, high fidelity simulation, case studies and more.
- Scope to work at Frankston and/or Rosebud Emergency Departments
- Broad range of multi-modal course content including:
- Chest x-ray, blood gas and ECG interpretation
- Advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation (adult and paediatric)
- Management of respiratory, cardiovascular, mental health, paediatric, obstetric, endocrine, renal, neurological, ocular and abdominal emergencies
- Burns and major trauma
- Shock, multi-organ dysfunction syndrome
- Alcohol and other drugs
- Triage
- Disaster management, forensics, toxicology
- End of life care
- Teamwork and leadership

- Senior support from NUM, ANUM’s and Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Support Nurses available to work across all clinical areas of the Emergency Department including:
