It is with great honour that we have chosen to name this vital facility after someone who had a profound impact on our community.
The Peta Murphy Breast Imaging Suite is a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Honourable Peta Murphy, who recently passed away after losing her battle to breast cancer.
Officially opened by the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan, Peninsula Health’s new breast imaging suite houses state-of-the-art mammography machines that will play a crucial role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast abnormalities, including potential signs of cancer.
The suite serves as a hub for comprehensive breast health care, fostering a proactive and preventive approach to women’s health, ensuring that our community continues to have access to the very best of care, close to home.
It is our hope that as we step into the future with the Peta Murphy Breast Imaging Suite, we carry forward the values that Peta embodied – a passion for excellence, a commitment to community, and a belief in the power of healthcare to transform lives. May this suite serve as a living tribute to Peta’s enduring spirit and give strength to those receiving care within Peninsula Health.
