Peninsula Health is registered with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) and follows the PMCV guidelines and code of conduct in processing and selection of our graduate nurses and midwives.
As per the PMCV guidelines, suitable PMCV eligible candidates are offered available positions in both the first round and second round of the PMCV matching process. On completion of second round, available positions will be offered to successful non-PMCV eligible candidates.
Steps to complete your application
Step 1 – Register
- Register with the Victorian Allocation and Placement Service
- Select Peninsula Health as one of your preferences
- Peninsula Health offer the following streams: General, Midwifery, Midwifery/General combined, Mental Health, Mental Health/General combined. Please select the correct stream(s) when choosing your preferences.
- Each stream must be selected separately as a preference
- You may select either one or both of the Jan/Feb intake or June intake
- If you select both the Jan/Feb and June intake this will be two of your preferences
Step 2 – Prepare your documents (PMCV and non-PMCV applicants)
The following documents are required for your application:

Resume/CV | Maximum three (3) pages. Include the following: ● Education qualifications in reverse chronological order (most recent at top), including start and end date ● Clinical Placements, list in reverse chronological order ● Include healthcare facility, dates and type of placement eg: Acute, rehab, surgery ● Employment history and relevant voluntary work in reverse chronological order include start and end dates |
References | Include name, organisation, role, date of placement, email and phone number. ● Two clinical referees from two different placements. ● Both must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife that was a clinical facilitator or preceptor. ● Midwifery – one referee must be from a midwifery placement ● Mental health – one referee must be from a MH placement |
Summative and/or final clinical reports | Two recent reports from two different placements. |
Academic transcript | Provide most recent academic transcript. Key to results must be included. If credit is given for previously completed units you must provide academic transcript for these units. For example, Diploma of Nursing (EN). |
Step 3 – Apply through Peninsula Health careers portal
Applications for our Graduate Programs open in June 2023 for both non-PMCV and PMCV candidates.

- Search graduate nurse program and select your desired stream. If you are applying for more than one stream at Peninsula Health, you will need to apply for both streams on eRecuit.
- Complete required application information
- Upload the following supporting documents
- Resume/CV
- Cover letter
- Other documents – Academic transcript and two x recent clinical reports scanned as one document.
Step 4 – Interview
- General Graduate program
Face to face or MS team/zoom interviews will not be conducted for our PMCV general graduate program. Applications will be reviewed in regards to documents provided, reference and the PMCV video interview. Non PMCV applicants will be required to attend an online interview. - MH and MG/General Graduate Program
Interviews will be conducted in August via MS teams. You will be notified to book in for a time that suits you. - Midwifery Graduate Program

Step 5 – First round offers
PMCV candidates will be the first to receive an offer.
First round PMCV releases matched outcomes.
Peninsula Health will contact all matched candidates by phone and email to welcome them to our team.
Step 6 – Second round offers
PMCV candidates not matched in first round enter into a second round matching process.
Second round candidates will be provided with a new PMCV number and are required to re-enter their preferences
You must also apply to the healthcare service with the documents outlined in Step 3
You will be contacted for interview

Step 7 – Offers non-PMCV Candidates
Successful non-PMCV candidates will be offered positions in our graduate program
All candidates will be emailed of the result of their application.
