Application guidelines for Graduate Nurse/Midwifery Programs

Bayside Health Peninsula offers Graduate Programs for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives.

Bayside Health Peninsula is registered with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) and follows the PMCV guidelines and code of conduct in processing and selection of Registered Nurses and Midwives. Application for PMCV eligible candidates is a two-step process that requires application to PMCV and Bayside Health Peninsula.

Information sessions were held in April/May 2026. A recording will be available on our website. A FAQ session is available on 19 May, bookings can be made on the our website.

Steps to complete your application

Step 1 – Register (PMCV candidates only)

  • Register with the Victorian Allocation and Placement Service.
  • Select Bayside Health Peninsula as one of your preferences.
  • Bayside Health Peninsula offer the following streams: General Nursing, Midwifery, Midwifery/Nursing Mental Health and Mental Health/General Nursing combined. 
  • Selection of Bayside Health Peninsula – Mental health includes Mental health pure stream and Mental Health/General Nursing.  Please state your preference in your letter of intention we will try to meet your preference this can not be guaranteed.
  • Graduates   Please select the correct stream(s) when choosing your preferences.
  • Each stream must be selected separately as a preference.

Step 2 – Prepare your documents (PMCV and non-PMCV applicants)

The following documents are required for your application:

Resume/CVAs per the PMCV guidelines

Include the following:
● Education qualifications in reverse chronological order (most recent at top), including start and end date.
● Clinical Placements, list in reverse chronological order.
● Include healthcare facility, dates and type of placement eg: Acute, rehab, surgery.
● Employment history and relevant voluntary work in reverse chronological order include start and end dates.

References: Your referees must be from two different placements, be a Registered Nurse or Midwife with at least one year of experience and have worked closely with you in a clinical setting such as:

● Nurse/midwife unit manager
● Clinical nurse/midwife consultant
● Clinical facilitator
● CSN/CSM
● Clinical preceptor

Include Title, first and last name, current job title, current health service, placement dates, email and phone number

Only if you cannot supply a 2nd referee from a student placement can you nominate a Nurse/Midwife manager or educator or clinical supervisor when you are a RUON/RUSOM
Summative and/or final clinical reportsTwo recent reports from two different placements. One report must be from a 3rd year placement. One report must be applicant’s most recent medical or surgical ward placement report. Applicant must provide both Formative and Summative reports for each placement including comments.
Academic transcriptProvide the most recent academic transcript including any previous academic transcripts that has contributed RPL or credit points towards the Nursing or Midwifery degree.
This must include the education provider, your name and course enrolled. Applicant must provide academic transcript education provider key of results for any academic transcripts provided.

Step 3 – Apply through Bayside Health Peninsula careers portal

The opening of applications for our Registered Nurse and midwifery Graduate Program 2027 is 1 June. 

Steps to apply

  1. Visit our careers portal 
  2. Register your details
  3. Search graduate nurse program and select your desired stream. If you are applying for more than one stream at Bayside Health Peninsula, you will need to apply for both streams on the careers portal.
  4. Complete required application information
  5. Upload the following supporting documents
  • Resume/CV
  • Academic transcript
  • 2 x recent clinical reports scanned as one document. One must be from a 3rd year placement

    Step 4 – Interview

    Bayside Health Peninsula will view the PMCV video interviews in selection.

    No face to face or online interviews will be conducted.

    Non-PMCV Register nurse applicants will be required to attend an online interview.

    Step 5 – PMCV Round One match results

    PMCV will publish all match results.

    All candidates will be notified by email from PMCV. Bayside Health Peninsula will contact all successful applicants via email after the acceptance period.

    Step 6 – PMCV Late vacancy stage

    Please refer to PMCV for the late vacancy process.
