Peninsula Health COVID-19 Update

The recent rise in community transmission of COVID-19, due to the emergence of Omicron, has resulted in staffing challenges for many health services across the state.

We wish to inform our community that we are managing this shortage by enacting a number of strategies during this time and we thank all of our staff working exceptionally hard to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional care to our community.

Our testing clinics are conducting more than 2,000 tests a day from our sites across the peninsula. Due to high demand, the wait time can be lengthy, please be patient and come prepared. Afternoons are usually quieter than the mornings.

Complete a RAT test if you are able to, and if you are COVID-19 positive, isolate and monitor your symptoms and take the necessary precautions. If your symptoms become severe, please seek medical attention. Visit the Department of Health Guidelines for more information on managing your symptoms.

We strongly encourage anyone in the community who has received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine more than four months ago to get their booster dose to protect themselves and our community.

Children aged 5-11 years old are now able to receive their COVID-19 vaccine at the Frankston Community Vaccination Centre. It’s important to pre-book ahead of time to get your child vaccinated. Please call 1800 675 398 or visit https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaccination… to make a booking.
