About 910 volunteers support Peninsula Health at sites from Seaford to Rosebud.
They do more than assist staff, patients, their families and visitors – they care for the community. Auxiliaries provide practical help to Peninsula Health and make lifelong friends through social fundraising events.
With 38 active auxiliary groups, members can be found delivering flowers to a new mum, selling a cappuccino in one of the kiosks, working in a mobility garden or sitting with the family of a seriously ill patient. They also accompany elderly people with dementia on outings, set up a hire television for newly-admitted patients, teach craft and perform dozens of other tasks.
With demands for Peninsula Health services growing every year, the additional resources provided by our auxiliary members are invaluable in enabling us to offer a comprehensive range of medical and nursing services. Literally thousands of medical, surgical and maternity patients in our community benefited during the year from our auxiliaries’ philanthropy.
