About SHARPS

Southern Hepatitis/HIV/AIDS Referral & Prevention Service (SHARPS) is a Needle Syringe Program (NSP) located in Frankston with an evening outreach service. SHARPS has a friendly environment with staff who will not judge.

At SHARPS we have an on-site nurse available Monday to Friday. The nurse can help you with vein care, nutrition, care of injection sites and with mental health issues. Our staff will also assist you to access other services.

SHARPS run a fixed site at 20 Young Street, Frankston from 9:00 am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Here you will find a free supply of:

  • clean needles & syringes
  • cotton & spoons
  • medi–swabs
  • condoms & lube
  • advice, referral, support & information.

There is an evening mobile outreach service which operates 7 evenings a week, covering Dandenong, Springvale, Frankston and surrounding areas.

Who can use the service?

Anyone involved in illicit injecting drug use.
