ABOUT COMMUNITY DENTAL SERVICES:

Peninsula Health Community Dental Program has dental services for

ADULTS

Adult dental services are provided at Frankston, Hastings and Rosebud. Contact the community dental clinic to have your name placed on a waiting list.

For emergency dental care, phone the closest clinic. Your dental condition will be assessed immediately and care offered within 24 hours.

Who can use the service?

If 18 years and older and hold a current health care or pensioner concession card you can go on the waiting list for general dental care and receive emergency dental care.

How much does it cost?

The cost of treatment varies and depends upon your situation.

What type of care is provided for adults?

  • Dental Checkups and advice
  • Dental sealants to prevent tooth decay
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Fillings and extractions
  • Dentures
  • X-rays
  • Referrals to specialists

YOUTH DENTAL PROGRAM – 12 to 18 years

Youth Dental Services are at Frankston, Hastings and Rosebud.

Who can use the service?

  • Students in secondary school (year 7 to year 12, up to 18 years of age)
  • Youths 14 to 18 who have left school can use the service if they or their parents hold a health care or pensioner concession card.

What type of care is provided for youth?

Care is available every two years. Youth with serious dental problems may be seen in 12 months.

General dental treatment including:

  • Dental Checkups and advice
  • Dental sealants to prevent tooth decay
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Fillings and extractions
  • X-rays
  • Referrals to specialists

How much does it cost?

General dental services are free to eligible youth.

SCHOOL DENTAL SERVICE – Grade Prep to Grade 6

The School Dental program is for children in years Prep to Grade 6 and aims at preventing dental decay. Clinics are at Frankston, Hastings and Rosebud.

Type of care provided

All general dental treatment is provided including:

  • Dental Checkups and advice
  • Dental sealants to prevent tooth decay
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Fillings and extractions
  • X-rays
  • Referrals to specialists

How much does it cost?

The service is free for current health care or pensioner card holders.

Non concession cardholders pay a fee of $29.00 per child per course of care, which includes a dental examination and general treatment.

PRE SCHOOLERS – 0 to 6 YEARS

The Early Childhood Oral Health program for children 0-6 years aims to prevent dental decay/ Clinics are at Frankston, Hastings and Rosebud.

Type of care provided

General dental treatment including:

  • Dental Checkups and advice
  • Dental sealants to prevent tooth decay
  • Teeth cleaning
  • Fillings and extractions
  • X-rays
  • Referrals to specialists

How much does it cost?

The service is free for current health care or pensioner card holders.
