Peninsula Health Intensive Community Treatment Team (ICT Team)
ICT is a clinical sub team of the APMHT and is collocated with the APMHT.
The aim of the team is to provide an alternative treatment to hospitalization during the acute phase of a person’s mental illness
ICT is a multidisciplinary team and functions on an outreach basis delivering acute mental health treatment in the person’s place of residence.
The team provides early discharge from the Aged Mental health inpatient unit where appropriate for patients who remain acutely unwell but who can be managed in their place of residence with increased support and treatment and education to consumers and their carers.
The team operates seven days per week during the hours of 0830-1700. The team does not provide a crisis response; this function is provided by the APMHT during business hours and by the acute component of the adult CLEARS after hours.
