Nursing Research

Nursing research is recognised as vital to the growth of the nursing profession at Peninsula Health.  The Health Service encourages staff to utilise nursing research to improve practice, but individuals are also encouraged to undertake nurse-led research within the Peninsula Health workplace.

Peninsula Health has joined forces with Monash University to develop collaborative opportunities for nursing research.  Melissa Bloomer began in a joint appointment between Peninsula Health and Monash University in late 2008, with the goal of developing research understanding, skill and utilisation amongst the nursing population at Peninsula Health.

Melissa’s goals are to support any nurse working at Peninsula Health to undertake nurse led research, and given the growing connection with Monash University, there is also opportunity for a beginning nurse researcher to gain support, guidance or collaboration from nursing research experts from Monash University.

If you are interested in nursing research, please contact Melissa Bloomer to discuss your ideas further.
