Peninsula Health has a strong commitment to servicing patients from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
Approximately 1,500 interpreter requests were arranged during 2009/10 and this number continues to grow. For this reason Peninsula Health provides a central Interpreter Booking Service which is available to all patients.
The centralised interpreter booking service provides a better understanding of the language needs of our patients aswell as the broader community.

How to book an Interpreter
The Peninsula Health Interpreter Booking service is coordinated by the Social Work Department at Frankston Hospital. Interpreters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, either for on-site or telephone interpreting for all sites of Peninsula Health.
Booking an Interpreter
If you have difficulties communicating in English with our staff, you are you are entitled to a professional interpreter.
The interpreter will be accredited with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters and provide independent, unbiased, confidential, complete and accurate interpreting
