Rosebud Community Health Boost

Peninsula Health has welcomed a funds injection for Rosebud Community Health announced today by Minister for Health Daniel Andrews.

Minister Andrews toured the site for the interim $3.1million Peninsula Health Rosebud Community Health facility.

Peninsula Health Chief Executive Dr Sherene Devanesen said “Significant planning and research has gone into this development to ensure that the new facility is designed to meet the needs of Rosebud’s growing population.”

“This new community health facility at Rosebud will offer a wide range of direct care and group programs from one central location.”

Currently, community health services in Rosebud are run from a number of locations. Children’s and family services, dietetics, diabetes education, access and counselling services and chronic disease management are offered from Elanora House, which is located in front of Rosebud Hospital; Dental services are run in a portable behind the Hospital and rehabilitation type services and programs are run at Rosebud Community Rehabilitation Centre.

Following the amalgamation between Peninsula Health and Peninsula Community Health Service, the various local community health services now operate under the same banner and can offer more services to more people, such as additional children’s services and exercise physiology programs,” Dr Devanesen explained.

“This is an exciting time for Peninsula Health Community Health on the Peninsula. In addition to the Rosebud facility, the new facility in Hastings is nearing completion, and additional services are being planned to further benefit local communities,” Dr Devensen said.

The Minister completed his visit to Rosebud with a tour of RosebudHospital, where he discussed a range of plans and developments with Peninsula Health Board Chairman Barry Nicholls and Operations Director Sharon White.
